Some other benefits include the ability to provide nutrients and medicines that would otherwise be difficult to due to their poor absorption, or any barriers to normal absorption, such as a digestive illness. What other substances can we use?
In addition to vitamins and minerals, botanical extracts and antioxidant compounds can also be infused if required. What conditions might benefit from IV therapies?
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (such as Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis), Cancer, Infection, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Stress-induced Fatigue, Headache, Arthritis, Athletic Performance (Nutritional Optimization), Cardiovascular Disease, Asthma, Gout
After an injury, the body uses inflammation to repair the damage. Prolotherapy is a type of injection therapy that uses varying concentrations of dextrose, typically between 10% to 25%. This is used to stimulate a localized wound healing cascade (three phases - inflammation, regeneration and remodelling) – primarily ligaments, tendons and cartilage. The aim of this therapy is to strengthen and rebuild these structures to become stronger and tighter.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelets, which are contained in blood plasma, release numerous growth factors that are essential for the healing of injured tissue. Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP, is a type of regenerative injection therapy that uses concentrated platelets to accelerate this repair. These platelets are concentrated by centrifuging a sample of venous blood, thereby removing the red blood cells and a portion of plasma from the injection solution. The remaining PRP solution contains approximately five times as many platelets as whole blood, releasing growth factor concentrations up to 300 times greater. Ozone
Ozone injections are an excellent treatment option for infectious, circulatory or structural illnesses. This treatment is often combined with Prolotherapy (“Prolozone”) or Platelet Rich Plasma, primarily for the treatment of herniated or degenerative discs. For more information on ozone, click here. Neural Therapy
Neural therapy is the practice administering localized injections of an anesthetic substance, with the aim of restoring function of the autonomic nervous system to areas where damage or impedance to neurological signalling may have occurred. Surgical scars are a typical example; however any area experiencing interference may result in referred pain syndromes around the body.
