RaeAnne Duce joined Paradigm Health Group in 2013 as a receptionist. With many years of experience and excellence in customer service, RaeAnne has proven to be a dedicated and passionate team member. She has enjoyed working with Paradigm’s team, and has continued learning and increasing her skills and abilities.
RaeAnne was born in Southern Alberta and has spent her life surrounded by the mountains. Her love of wildlife, nature and all things country keep her energized when she’s not assisting patients.
Sandy Peralta joined the Paradigm Health Group team in February of 2016. With over 20 years of customer service and administrative experience, she is committed to ensuring that our patients needs are met in a prompt, caring and efficient manner and always with a smile.
This positive, outgoing, energetic native Calgarian loves spending time with her family and living an active lifestyle during all seasons.
After almost 20 years in the healthcare field and 8 years as a Registered Nurse, Shawn Boshuck was feeling unfulfilled in her position as an RN in the conventional medical system. For many years she had been interested in the natural health field and was eagerly looking for a way to incorporate her education and experience as an RN. Shawn found the Integrative Medicine Institute where her interests were realized. She is thrilled to have had the great pleasure and honour of working with two of the founders of Paradigm Health Group for the past 12 years. Her love of interacting with people and assisting them to achieve optimal health on all levels feeds her soul, so it is definitely a win-win situation. Shawn loves to learn new things and you can often find her asking questions, attending another workshop or conference, or with her nose buried in a book.
In her free time, she loves to spend time with her husband and 5 children, most of whom are grown now, her lab retriever Kacie, border collie Odie, and beautiful black adopted rescue cat Kenna.
After working in the conventional hospital setting for ten years, Lynnette Watson switched her focus to an integrative approach to health care since she wasn’t seeing patients getting well. She has an interest in learning more about nutrition and lifestyle changes that will empower people to regain their health and enhance their healing path.
She loves spending time with her husband and two children, camping, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. Lynnette loves to read, learn, and take courses related to physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and soul health. She also has a passion for dancing and psychology.
Dr. Brandy James is a strong believer in finding and addressing the root cause of the imbalances in health and disease. She takes a holistic and individualized approach to medicine and utilizes a combination of botanical medicine, nutrition, homeopathy, lifestyle counseling, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture and is also trained in Neuroemotional Technique (NET). An integration of these is used to treat a wide range of conditions including but not limited to Digestive concerns, Women’s Health and a special interest in Mental Emotional Health as well as Stress and its numerous effects on the body.
Brandy has a passion for the mind body connection and has completed Clinical training at the Harvard Mind body Institute of Medicine. She continues to explore how the mind can have an effect on the body and how it can be used as a powerful tool. Brandy is also strong believer in educating and empowering her patients to take an active role in their health.
Brandy is a licensed Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and is a good standing member of the Alberta Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (AANP) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
Dr. Patricia Wales brings her 35 years of experience as a naturopathic doctor to Paradigm Health Group in January 2016. She focuses on general family care with patients ranging from infants to the golden years and all ages in-between, emphasizing stress-resilience, optimum nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits.
Dr. Wales uses Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis, a wide range of lab tests where indicated, and Muscle Response Testing to select and monitor individual treatment programs.
Specific practice interests include digestive problems, allergies and food sensitivities, enhancing immunity, women’s health issues (menstrual irregularity, PMS symptoms, fertility, endometriosis, menopause, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and promoting breast health) and treating chronic conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, osteoporosis/osteopenia and arthritis.
Throughout her career, Dr. Wales has been active in both provincial and national naturopathic associations and was instrumental in modernizing the laws for naturopathic medicine in Ontario and Alberta.
Dr. Jana Exner grew up in a household where she was inspired by her mother’s passion for alternative medicine. Her interest in the field grew at age seventeen when Naturopathic Medicine helped her recover from systemic candidiasis and mononucleosis. This experience strengthened her desire to become a doctor and help people overcome their issues and reclaim their health. Dr. Exner’s practice includes all health concerns, with special interests in gastrointestinal health, hormonal
balance and menopause, and stress/fatigue. Upon graduation of Naturopathic Medicine, Jana received the Boucher Award for Excellence in Nutritional Medicine.
After experiencing debilitating cluster headaches for many years, and finding little relief with standard medical intervention, Dr. Chris Schlee began to look to a more holistic method of wellness. Chris discovered the benefits of naturopathic medicine and these principles and practices mirrored his own philosophy. After graduating from Naturopathic College, Chris received the Leadership Award for service, involvement and initiatives within the community. His practice focus extends to treating gastrointestinal disorders, musculoskeletal injury, cancer, mental health issues and allergies.
Dr. Arden Baker-Hadley is a native Calgarian who moved to the Pacific Northwest to obtain her training in Oriental Medicine and Naturopathic Medicine. Arden’s goal is to bring new approaches and treatment strategies to common ailments that affect everyone, including; IBS, fatigue, chronic infections, dermatology and allergies. In addition to tackling day-to-day wellness, there is also a strong focus on hormone balance and helping families with fertility challenges.
Arden’s post graduate training includes the use of Electrodermal testing, which is a unique assessment tool to help look at the balance and function of organs and tissues in addition to helping identify food intolerances and chronic infections.
Dr. Rhiannon Owens has always been active in sports since she was a child, playing competitively in varsity field hockey and Ultimate Frisbee at the national level. Her interest in athletics and sports medicine has brought her to working with athletes and sports injuries. Since graduation Dr. Owens received specialized training in areas such as prolotherapy, platelet-rich plasma, neural therapy, chelation therapy and oncology. Her areas of specialty also include: digestive disorders, allergies, women’s health, fertility and chronic pain.
Dr. Trevor Hoffman is one of the founders of Paradigm Health Group. After working with Dr. Jason Ahlan at the Integrative Medicine Institute of Canada, Trevor and Jason made the decision to start a naturopathic medical clinic aiming to offer a wide range of expertise from doctors with diverse backgrounds, all with a focus on the very highest level of excellence.
Growing up on an orchard in Kelowna, British Columbia, Dr. Trevor Hoffman has a great appreciation for wholesome quality nutrition. In his youth, Trevor suffered from debilitating migraine headaches that western medicine was unable to treat successfully. Through the intuitive determination of his mother, they found ways to significantly reduce the severity and frequency of his migraine headaches. This knowledge sent Trevor in the direction of seeking a different way of looking at health and wellness. His practice has focused mainly on sports injuries, pain management, regenerative medicine, and autoimmune disease.
Dr. Jason Ahlan is one of the founders of Paradigm Health Group. Jason worked with partner Dr. Trevor Hoffman at the Integrative Medicine Institute of Canada, and in 2008 Paradigm Health Group was created based upon the mutual belief of “power in numbers”. Building a diverse team of doctors, Jason and Trevor have established a naturopathic medical practice where patients benefit from the widest range of experience and backgrounds.
Jason’s love of sports and the outdoors has led to a passion in sports medicine and pain management, working closely with everyone from Olympic athletes to weekend warriors. Outside of the practice, you will often find Jason spending time in the mountains with his wife Caroline, or playing “chase the snowball” with his dog Kili.
